AKOS celebrates 10th anniversary with interviews with heads of biggest PR agencies in Russia

The first interview with Veronika Moiseeva, head of "Imageland Edelman Public Relation", is devoted to the history of the company, its successes and development of Russian PR market over the last 10 years

The Russian Communications Consultancies Association (ÀÊÎS) founded in 1999 celebrates its 10th anniversary. The Association organizes a series of interviews devoted to the development of public relations in Russia and to the changes that have happened in this industry during these 10 years.

AKOS was founded in 1999 as a union of fundamentally new type for the Russian public relations market and has united the most respected and reliable independent players. At the moment AKOS consolidates 28 first-rate Russian PR-consultancies, whose common market share exceeds 50 %. Collectively, AKOS members employ more than 1500 PR specialists.

AKOS is a member of International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO), founded in 1986. Today ICCO comprises 28 national organizations uniting more than 1000 PR-agencies with more than 25000 PR-experts. The membership in ICCO is generally considered to be the indicator of professionalism and service quality, correspondence to ethical standards recognized internationally as well as conformity to the standards of Stockholm and Rome charters of ICCO.

Within the AKOS 10 years celebration AKOS organizes a series of interviews with heads of AKOS members — managers who were pioneers of Russian PR industry and made significant contribution to development of the industry. Success stories, career development milestones, great projects, forecasts for Russian PR market development can be found on the official AKOS site www.akospr.ru. The first interview of the series is given by the first AKOS Chairwoman Veronika Moiseeva, General Director, Imageland Edelman Public Relations. In her opinion, the Association successfully completes its tasks and helps Russian PR market to develop successfully.

For example, we need to continue our dialogue with governmental institutions to form a transparent PR services tender process to make pricing on PR services more clear and understandable. According to Ms. Moiseeva, Imageland Edelman Public Relation suggested brand new tools of working with traditional media. E.g. the company created partner project with Kommersant publishing house and issued Kommersant Money 2.0 magazine. Within this project, every volunteer blogger could prepare his or her own material for the special edition of magazine. As the result, bloggers together with journalists wrote excellent articles, while other Internet users could watch the bloggers writing and comment the process. This project was very interesting for the Edelman partners of the agency.
